Knowledge and Ignorance is a thought provoking collection of sound exploration inspired by real world events, dark thoughts and childhood experiences, totally electronically produced. Containing some truly spine chilling samples and heavily filtered synth melodies, Chokai’s 5th is a real spooker of an album. Conceived as a “concept” album (yes, these do exist beyond the 70’s) “Knowledge and Ignorance” is a challenging but enjoyable album, taking in many elements from heavy breakbeats to soothing ambiance. Chokai explains the album in his own, uniquely mad way: “…it’s the soundtrack to a selfish and indulgent society, spinning you around in an audio soup of mashed up musical elements and general noise, much like life is for all of us in our delightful consumerist sheep-like lifestyles to which I am a part of and cannot escape…”
